As the commercial heart of Brazil and largest city in Latin America, Sao Paulo is a vibrant city that represents the true culture of Brazil. A city formed by various waves of immigration, from Italians in the 19th century to Japanese, Lebanese, and Germans, followed by massive rural to urban migrations in the 20th century, Sao Paulo is a unique combination of diverse cultural influences.
This diversity is exactly what makes Sao Paulo special today. This culturally rich metropolis, with over 18 million inhabitants, is home to Brazil’s largest and best educated middle class. Culture buffs will revel in the plethora of opportunities available at their fingertips in Brazil’s cultural capital, from plays, concerts, and ballets to a happening nightlife.
